In my area, the price for a base XL 4x2 SCrew with the 5.0L runs from $31K to above $40K.. the cheaper trucks have no frills whatsoever, but I've seen several with the STX package with front buckets, nicer wheels, upgraded audio in the ~ $37K range. Really just according to what you're looking for. BTW, there are several leftover 2016 XLT's that's fairly loaded for that trim level in the sub $35K range. (Sure that's pretty much the same everywhere)
I am too worried about the potential of the water pumps failing after 100,000 miles or so than to go V6 Ford although I expect the job is not too terrible to replace one.I would really rather have a Ford than a V-6 Silverado, although considering it.Would prefer no turbos to think about. I will say I drove the 2017 Expedition and the V6 in that thing runs very strong.Hard to believe a vehicle that heavy can move along so well.
The fear of turbos is a bit of a dated concern. Sorta like shouting "get a horse" every time one of those new fangled automobiles makes a racket rolling by the farm.
Kinda like people saying but diesels last forever right Frantz. Engine might last forever but everything else around it won't. That and how long do you plan to keep the truck for. I know multiple people running over 200,000km on the first gen 3.5 who have only done oil changes on their motors.

Has anyone looked to see how many turbo'd F-150s are on the road now? With roughly 1/3 going as 3.5L TT, and 1/3 going as 2.7L TT, there have got to be many, many hundreds of thousands of those things spinning around the country.
Then, just for fun, calculate the number of turbo revolutions per mile, and how many billions of revolutions there have been since they started shipping. Actually, I thinki billions might be the wrong base. Maybe trillions, or quadrillions.
