I found these on my buddies truck, its on the frame rail on both sides. I have the connectors and lights to install but there is no power at the harness. Is this something the dealer has to "reflash" in the pcm to make these light up? I assume they should operate while unlocking the doors or opening, ign. on or off.

 

They should only have power for a short duration. Should be the same duration as the interior lights when you lock/unlock the truck. They will not have continuous power.

 

Yep, I realize the intermittent power. But this truck has none at the plug.

 

Check fuse 12 in the passenger fuse panel....That controls interior lights also...

 

Thank you, but I got it figured out. I did not have a VOM or test light last time, but I had to reverse the wires on the after-market connectors. The truck end was always "powered", but with the wrong polarity, the led's wouldn't light up. All is good.
