Cam Phaser question
I got time to stop in and talk to them, and they told me i will need a new timing chain/belt.etc....
I remembered that i also purchased an extended warranty.
The shop called them and initiated the claim process, however, they told the shop that they will not pay for cam phasers.
Isnt this something that helps the engine run properly integral to the timing components? I would think that if you have the engine apart to replace the other components, it would be necessary to replace the cam phasers.
The warranty states: "What's Covered" INCLUDES ALL ITEMS COVERED UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S ORIGINAL COVERAGE, except for those items listed under "Items not covered" "
ITEMS NOT COVERED: Any normal maintenance item including tires, wheels, struts, shocks, brake shoes or pads, rotors or drums, belts, hoses, filters, fluids, lubricants, clutch, pressure plate or clutch relase bearing and tune-up items. Exhaust or emission parts, sound reproduction components lighting, wiring harness, telephone, clock, television, and navigation equipment. Any body parts, interior parts, trim, glass, paint, airbag system and keyless entry/anti-theft.
So.... that being said, if my timing belt/chain went out under the factory warranty, would they replace the cam phasers or would they just put worn out **** back inside the motor????
I should also say that my transmission went out and i had to deal with this company to try and get my transmission replaced. they wanted to put a "used" transmission in my pickup (09 F-150) when they exhausted all avenues looking for a used Not worn out transmission for that year, they finally relented with a rebuilt one.
I'm thinking they are just using every avenue they can to keep their expenses down at my expense.
