Does anyone familiar with the Ford ESP plan know why the cam phaser replacement is not covered under this warranty? My dealer says it is rejected and so did Ford customer service. My warranty pamphlet states"engine-all internal lubricated parts. This fits the description...What gives? There is absolutely nothing on there that states it is not covered...

It should be covered. Goto another dealership and/or call Easy Care yourself and ask. 1-800-538-4181 Be sure to have your contract number & possiably your VIN number handy when you call.
What he said...and do a search as well. There are others on here who have had the issue covered under warranty, extended or otherwise. When you call ESP they will tell you that it is up to the dealership to determine if it's covered. Basically, your dealer does not want to do the work because they don't think the Ford ESP standard rate for this issue is worth their time...You could also ask to speak with the Ford Regional rep and if still no satisfaction go through the BBB and arbitration. Ford will eventually cover the repair.
The dealer claimed Ford wouldn't cover it. I called Ford customer service hotline and she said it says in their computer ...NO it is not covered. I asked her who do I call next she claims they will all say the same thing. I told her that was unfortunate because I bought the extended care because of the phasers and now they are not covered...I didn't scream and swear at her like I really wanted...lol
Depending on what ESP plan you have it may or may not be covered. Get the part number for the part to be replaced, ask for the warranty administrator (I was one) There is a section on the fmcdealer.com website(in OASIS if I remember correctly) that shows by your VIN number and the Ford base number that it is or is not covered. No guessing that way.
Oh and don't go in with an attitude they will be more likely to help you, or perhaps try a different dealer.
I had it done under extended warrenty and it was covered. I had 54,000 on my 04 when I took it in. They tried to say they didn't hear anything at first but after a few choice words they found the problem and fixed it.
Just to update..I went to ther dealed in my hometown and asked if this would be covered. He thought it would. He asked me if I remembered the numbers...I didn't. He asked the parts guy and punched it in to the computer. He said yes it is covered. This is a dealership owned by the same guy as the one I took the truck to...The service advisor told me to go back and talk to them as I had paid the diagnostic fee already and that if I had a problem tell them to call him. 7:30 the next morning my cell rings...the advisor that originally declined coverage was calling. He apologized up and down and said he was given the wrong numbers. I have had the work done....engine is quiet!! As an added bonus the power is noticeably improved on the freeway,no more downshifts everytime I give it a little more gas...in town seems the same. I don't know about mileage yet.... Moral of the story is stick to your guns if you think you are right!!!
