I bought my truck sight unseen from the dealership website. I had ordered a truck the first week of September but by the end of November no one could tell me when I may expect it to arrive. Pretty much everyone in the dealership tried but to no avail. Finally my patience wore out and I talked to my salesperson (non-commissioned) about another truck. Their inventory was spotty at the time and I found another one in a different city. I made a deal with them on 11/30 and my truck was delivered to my office on 12/1. Never had to leave my desk. The salesman had a few papers I had to sign and we did a walk around and that was about it. I had never even rode in one until I bought mine. My son has a '15 F-150 so I was familiar with the new cabs and the interior layout. The first page is the initial offer and the last is the actual contract (copy). Bottom line: Truck stickered @ $72,450 & drive out was $70k. Cash deal. Sorry for the disjointed post. Typical day - wide open around here. Good luck.
Thank you! I'm mostly drawing a blank when it comes to finding these sorts of rebates/programs. Can you point me in a direction to look and see what's out there?
$899 doc fee! Not saying it's not a good deal (I didn't really even check the numbers), but that's a great example. PA caps doc fee at $138, so two trucks out the door at the same price, theirs would look $761 cheaper if every other line item was the same. That's the sorta stuff you gotta keep in mind when looking at internet pricing or asking people what they paid.
Right now it's mostly AQHA. I don't know if Experimental Aircraft is still doing thier thing or not. I think it was Sams club that on top of the regular good deal buyers program, got an extra $500 coupon AND $500 store card or something like that. I haven't heard of that program for a few months though so it might be gone, it was pretty good! Sign up for ford stuff at events and try and get coupons, they are normally good for $750 when eligible. Some of it stacks, others don't. You can always join the Army and get $500. Totally worth it!
frantz, in this above example along with the todays rebates of an extra 750$ rebate with ford right now and the AQHA $500 would the selling price be $68,750? Or is there more tax calculations involved.

Hey Frantz, unfortunately for us Floridians we have one of the highest doc fees in the country. I read the average fee is about $675.00 down here.
Some states tax before rebates and some states tax after rebates, so I can't give a firm answer on that. Some states give you tax credit for the trade value too! But generally, yes you could add the extra rebates and adjust for your own doc fee and see how that compares.
I've found most places that have higher doc fees have correspondingly lower prices. Same with states that don't include destination as part of the "sale price". It sucks for folks like me who sell in pa that keeps things pretty straight and simple and I know I lose business to folks who want to save $2000 so they'll drive to VA. Like I said, they'll end up paying the exact same amount, but think they need to travel to get a good deal and end up losing out on having a local dealer to really go to bat for them should trouble arise. It's very hard to compare apples to apples.
Oh also, remember when you ask for an out the door figure from another state, they get you out the door with no taxes paid, and when you get back in the door at your home state you owe those taxes! Unless you're looking for something really specific and in a hurry, you really shouldn't shop outside your own state, too much can go wrong. An exception is for a really old leftover, these do go for thousands less sometimes due to advertising money being put on them in order to make them move. I have a few '16 plats that will start getting money added to them sooner or later if they don't sell, but most of our stuff is old commercial inventory. If you find a retail only shop, you have a better chance of finding one of these unicorn deals, but you'll have to settle for whatever it is. It can be worth traveling for these deals if it's for a vehicle you wanted anyway.
I am looking at buying a Ford F250 Lariat also. I am on Long Island in NY but willing to go wherever the best price is and even have it shipped.
I built the truck online my truck:
2017 Ford F250 Black
6.7L Diesel
Lariat Ultimate Package
Spray In Bed Liner
BLIS
Quad Beam LED Headlamps
Power Deployable Running Boards
Came out to $67,350 with a 750 bonus cash incentive. I am looking to get this truck into the $50's is that possible?
No. I priced a lariat that was 67,060. X plan was 63,175. Invoice was 63,153. Hold back was 1974 so the cheapest it could be was 60,179 with no hold back.

It's possible that you can't score the best deal on Long Island due to overhead cost, but I can assure you that unless you're looking for a Raptor or GT350, there isn't a factory order in the country that would be so amazing that it would be worth shipping. If you ever find yourself at that point, you've missed something along the way. I promise that.
