Torque Pro and such
I'm an oldie. Me and computers and phone get on OK. But...........
Been researching the Torque Pro and ALL KINDS of gauges stuff.
Seems like the level of tech is somewhat daunting..
I am into making my 350 with 167K somewhat bulletproof, and definitely reliable for a 3K mile camping/fishing trip to Idaho this summer.
Truck runs well, no history aside from my upgrades in last 2 yrs.
Got the 38R turbo from Brad with 15K on it, bellowed up pipes, pedistal orings, 4" stainless exhaust, oil cross over head to head, New passenger side fuel line (clamp deleted), pedistal gauges EGT, Trans temp, and Boost. Looks and probably is stock injectors. Newer front hubs with maybe 7K on the oldest. Brake pads newer, newer steering stab, Verticle stabs, oil & filter new and fuel filter new Wix fuel filter last week. Intake is AFE Magnum Force with washable filter. Trans screen and fluid maybe 7k on that. New Radiator and coolant bout 7K old. Front and rear diffs changed oil 30k ago. No offroading since bought 30K ago.
Very recently added PHP Hydra chip with Stock, Daily Driver, Towing, and Performance tunes.
Now, when taking it to 25 PSI boost, it's throwing P1211 code.
Brad wants to look at duty cycle of injectors to see if the HPOP is starting to fail or just being over driven for the Stock injectors. Too much fuel being asked for.
So.....After all that, and thanks for getting through this dissertation, what else you might suggest for towing 27ft. 5th wheel to Idaho for some somewhat remote extended camping and catching fish?
Would you think I should take the time and $ to invest and learn all the lunacy of learning the whole tech side of the Torque Pro and gauge learning curve, or just go for it?
If you want something super easy and powerful, FORScan will give you all the information you can glean from our OBDII port - but it's not a "pretty" interface. It's hard to read while driving, so you just log and review the data later. FORScan also has the ability to conduct buzz, Cylinder Rotational Velocity, KOEO, and other tests. OBDII tools link in my signature might prove useful, and there is a Torque Pro FAQ thread you can search for.
I wasn't planning on wanting to learn about how to set up programs for another device.
Just tryin to see if I have a potential HPOP issue rearing it's ugly head before an extended trip in mountains.
Or if I can simply know what the PW's are supposed to be in Daily Driver and Tow mode. Then I guess I have to swallow the Black Pill and start into the Torque Pro thing with accompanying plug. WHAAAA. I know, don't whine.

Hard and fast answer - if your FIPW (injPW) goes over 3.0 ms (or 3,000 microseconds) with your foot in the throttle, the ICP will tank, the IPR will climb, and the P1211 will pop. There are a few caveats, but I have seen many tunes get too aggressive with fueling, and the high FIPW leads to an ICP issue.
