Maybe stupid questions??? Help please
1.). Trying to find a headliner. Is the '64 cab the same as the '65? I like the 4-piece but it says '64 is a 2 piece.
2.) installing a factory underdash ac unit from a '65 mustang in the truck. Updated '95 F150 compressor. But I'd like to run new hoses, receiver drier and condenser without having to wire up high and low pressure switches. Anyone know how the systems back in the 60's did it?
3.). Does anyone know of a manufacturer, either NOS or aftermarket that makes a replacement roof panel or drip rails? Someone tried to do bodywork on my '64 cab and cut the driprail off the drivers side. I want to fix the cab and replace the drip rail.
Thanks again guys, this forum has helped me many times in making this truck as fun as it is!
Early systems did not have a high pressure switch, but a low pressure switch will save your compressor and keep your evaporator from icing up too fast. Have you noticed how the compressor cycles on and off while the A/C is running? That's the low pressure switch doing it's job.
The high pressure switch is mostly a safety feature to prevent over-pressuring the system if something is blocking the line.
If I were installing an A/C system from scratch and making new lines and all I'd plan on having them both, but at a minimum the low pressure switch is a must.
Trying to find a headliner. Is the '64 cab the same as the '65/66?
The roof is the same, there are differences inre to the dash and floor pan.
I like the 4-piece but it says '64 is a 2 piece.

Two different 1964 headliners, two different 1965/66 headliners, all will interchange.
1964 Custom Cab headliner is perforated, Standard Cab is not.
1965/66 Custom Cab and Ranger headliner is perforated, 1965/66 Standard Cab is not.
1964/66 have one large front section, a shorter section located in the rear where the dome lamp is. Rear section retained to the front section with clips.
There are right and left corner sections. These came flat, had to be 'pushed' into place.
I assume the repro right and left corner sections match the originals. 1982: I replaced the headliner in my '65, but the headliner was genuine Ford as it was still available back then.
Most 1965/66 F100/250's with A/C used the same dash bezels as 1963/65 Falcon/Fairlane, 1965/66 Mustang. Only difference: 1963/65 painted argent, 1966 painted charcoal.
With a 4 speed, the shift lever had to be bent to clear the bezel.
