2009 engine noise
So apparently I have a cam phaser issue after driving with engine up to normal operating temperatures I slow down and my idle slows to about 400 rpm and my engine has a distinct knocking sound if i put it in park and rev the engine up slightly it goes away and my idle is back up to about 700 rpm. Talked to ford and the said the whole cam phaseer sysetm has to be replaced. cam phasers solenoid timing etc chains has to be replaced.
But I have been reading about a lock out kit never herd about it before and the guy selling it says it will eliminate the noise 100%. my engine has 340k Km and he said he would still do it said could get another 250k km with the addition of this kit.
He could have just sold me a new engine (which I was looking for) but suggested this
I dont have 5000 to 10k dollars to spend on a new engine.
What im asking i guess if anyone has herd of this and would you do this ? 1050 for the kit plus install.
