Help with part ID

Hey guys..... just picked up a 79 F250 super cab.... looking it over I see this is leaking... appears to be a part of the tranny cooler? What is it so I can replace it? Thanks!!!

Looks like some type of sending unit. What do those wires connect to ?

On my '79 F250, that white wire connected to an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. The gauge didn't work and I later found an open splice in the wire resting against the inner fender. Not sure if that helps any. Maybe someone else can offer some input.

My guess is it's a temp sender for the transmission. If you don't need it, you can bypass it but not the cooler!
