Justvwondering has anyone had this problem, seems whoever carried out timing chain maintenance previously overtightened the bolt and cracked the bolt hole on the engine block, is this serious and if so what further action should I take? Thank you
Looks to be aluminium?? Oil gets splashed up in and around....seems to be a bit of weeping at the crack, but don't know how long its been like that. Keep a close eye peeled on it for to see if it gets worse.
Can you weld aluminium? Know someone who can? I know it has to be very, very clean to weld it.
Thanks for the reply, there is weeping from the crack it's looks like it's been there a long time to be honest, I just noticed it whilst scanning the block for the VCT solenoid port, it's the first time I've seen it could be like that for years
