Question Trying to identify

I was given an F-500 dually and I'm trying to identify the truck. I used the VIN search and all I got was 1965 F-5 conventional. It has a FE/FT? 2bbl engine and 20" wheels. Can anyone give me more specifics?

This is all the info off the door tag:

VIN = F50CE788949
WB = 156
Color = G
Model = F-500
Body = 481
Trans = A
Axle = 41

GVW = 15,000
Cert net HP = 164
RPM = 3800
DSO = 111139

Thanks, Paul

VIN = F50 = F 500
C = 330 MD FT engine
E = Mahwah, NJ assemly plant
788949 = Early Dec '65 (1966 Model)
WB = 156 wheel base
Color = G = Chrome yellow
Model = F-500
Body = 4 = Trim Code = Medium beige crush vinyl and medium beige wicker pattern vinyl
81 = Conventional cab
Trans = A = 4 Speed New Process synchronized
Axle = 41 = Timken rear, 5,83 ratio, 13,000 lb cap

Note: There should be another code after this one, to indicate the front axle code weight capacity.

GVW = 15,000
Cert net HP = 164 (both HP and RPMs correct for 330 FT)
RPM = 3800
DSO = 111139
11 - The first one, is Boston.
The other two would be kept at the dealer which sold the truck, so they are probably meaningless now.

Thanks! I'll check the tag again for the front axle code. The cab and stake body are completely shot but the chassis is decent shape, and its free.

No, not necessarily. 1964/69 B-C-F-N-NT-T-W500/1100 will ONLY have a front axle code IF the front axle is heavier than the standard axle, which on this F500 is 5,000 lbs. Capacity.

Reference: 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog ~ General Information Section ~Page 78 ~ Front Axle Codes: Quote "From 1964/69 only optional front axles are identified. Beginning in 1970, all front axles are identified." Unquote

Therefore, from 1964 thru 1969, there will only be 2 digits on the Rating (VIN) Plate axle code on trucks larger than ONE TON if the front axle is standard.

Thanks Bill, I thought I got all the numbers but I did check again and the only axle code was 41 for the rear. Now I just have to decide what I'm going to do with it...
