I have a 97 F250 with 87000. miles on it. I love the drive and pulls my trailers great. it is, however, very noisey so much so that I have to stop the engine at driveups. how can i fix this?
"It is the nature of the 7.3 and the HEUI injection system my friend. Awesome year...(1997)...with low mileage. Treat that engine right and it should go 400k without an issue.
Archoil friction modifier (AR9100) quieted my truck down noticeably."
Oh yeah...I did.
Is your truck much louder than the day you got it? The 7.3 with the fuel injection system it runs is quite loud by nature. If it's too loud for you...perhaps it isn't the truck for you. Would be a shame to get rid of a low mileage 7.3...especially that year model...IF everything is running properly.
