TBC Fault Code

Just bought an '05 with the trailer brake controller built in and as soon as I drove away from the dealer a TBC fault came on as well as a trailer disconnected, even though there's no trailer. Any ideas on where to begin other than having the dealer look at it?

Inspect the condition of the inside of the 7 blade RV plug receptacle. Also check the harness for starters.
Do you have an OBDII Bluetooth elm 327 adapter? If so you can buy the $5 app Forscan lite and do a diagnostic readout. Below is a screenshot of the pids you'll be able to check to make sure everything is functioning.

My experience, if the trailer plug looks good, no obvious damage, then the TBC Controller is junk.

Either replace or have it sent in and repaired.
