I was going through my shed the other day, looking for something. I pulled a box down, set it on the floor, opened it up and saw a big black widow staring at me from inside. She was HUGE and she had a nest in there too. When I stuck my hand inside the handle to lift it, I couldn't have been more than an inch from her.
I will NEVER get used to these things out here. I did not grow up around poisonous spiders, and I don't always think before I stick my hand someplace.
Now I have a shed with a bunch of boxes in it and I will never feel safe opening them again.
For the record, I don't mind spiders, it's the ones that make your flesh die while it's still attached to you that I have a problem with.
Yeah really... Just closed on a home in bullhead. Moved new boxed furniture or there last week. What comes with furniture, came alot of empty boxes. Not wanting to fill the cans up, I decided to stack accordingly into the open trailer. Only problem is, this thing called wind. Taking v that into consideration, and the fact that, the home is on a land of rocks, near the river, I decided to reach down and load the boxes up with these 1-2ft boulders. NOT thinking of the environment and heat, the neighbor with the good sense, while being outside, reminded me that, embracing them types of moves, will definitely land me in the hospital with bites...rattlers or scorpions...lol

I have no idea why, but I laughed out loud (LOL for the younger generation) and thought is was pretty damn funny.
At first I thought making this unauthorized thread was a bad idea, but now I think it was a great idea hiding behind a bad one.

My wife and I have a place in Topock, just south of Bullhead. I haven't seen a snake or scorpion in 5 years. I used to see them a lot down in Havasu.

where in bullhead? I lived there for 5 years, 6 months in the river bend area Than 6 months on avinita colibri, by WARMC. than bought a house on Merrill Ave.
^^^ hahaha....i can get a good look at a T-Bone steak, if I stuck my head up a cows @#%, but I'll just take the butchers word..😊Bought the home as an investment for renting. Did alright on my last sell of my home, so figured I'd get better returns on my $$$, then it just sitting collecting .001 % interest. Plus, gives us a place for the summer Tim with the seadoos. It's on Palo Verde Dr...main st are Ramar/Lakeside. Think its the Holiday Shores area
I don't have a van to park near the river, but I have a yacht to park on the lake. My wife and I don't want to plunk down first, last, and deposit on a new place in Lake Chelan until our house closes closes. Just getting into a year-round rental up there can easily demand $4K - $5K up front because it's a resort town. With this dilemma, we have discussed the possibility of the need to live on the boat for up to a month. The slip space with power would run close to $600 per month, which is cheaper than the seediest apartment in that region. That would be so cool to live on a boat in early summer on Lake Chelan.
BUT FIRST.... I need to move all my stuff into storage up there. It sure would be nice if I didn't have to move "Al" up there, which I intend to get rid of anyway. For those who don't remember, AL is a complete OBS 7.3L that I acquired and set aside... before grabbing "Frank" and upgrading that one.

Rich, I knew that slip fees are up but that takes the cake - I think. My first 30' slip in Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor was $30.00 a month. But that was over forty years ago. I can't imagine what they are now. I hear that a flea bag house in the worst part of the county sells for well over 2 to $300K these days.
Love the picture of the lake. Im out in the shop working on a pistol next to the ol 7.3 thinking Im at the lake. We have 30 days and summer should be here in Texas and can hit the water!
