2017 F250 when I turn left I hear a popping/flexing noise by my head. May also happen on the other side too just can't tell as I don't drive from there. I can't tell if it's the front or rear door but if the truck is angled and flexed just right it happens. I can drive over road reflectors and reproduce the sound.
It's really annoying and right by my head. Tried to reinforce the weatherstrip didn't work. It's like the doors move around in their frames while cornering making a hollow popping sound.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix? Pretty sure it has to do with the new aluminum body. My last few Super Duties were very solid no issues but wind noise that was rectified by reinforcing the weatherstrip with latex tubing. This one feels and sounds loose despite my efforts.
The console also seems to squeak and creak.
Had a 2015 F150 with the same cab and the sound came from the full glass roof. I was able to clean and lubricate it with PTFE occasionally to rid it of the noise but no luck doing the same thing with this one.
That's really strange, I don't know what your experiencing here. Can you record it and post, I would take you you dealer and get them working on it so it's lidpsted as a warranty issue.
Is the popping worse when turning? Could the hubs be locked instead of auto?
Glad you posted this and that I read it; I've been hearing a popping noise when I have had the wheel turned hard left. I couldn't see anything when I inspected the front end while having my son turn the wheel...I just checked the hubs and they were both in the "lock" position instead of "auto". Now it all makes sense.
I don't have any sort of popping but my weather stripping or something in my drivers side front door panel is making some sort of noise and it drives me absolutely insane !!!!! I hear it when I drive down rougher roads or bumps. Doesn't matter if Im turning or driving straight.
Ive seen some forums where the spray silicone inside the weather stripping through the little holes, basically saying the noise if from the seals sticking to themselves. But that seems like a messy way to fix it.
Is anybody else experiencing something similar and of so how did they fix it?
Not my hubs, not the sunroof as seen here (Rattle or Squeak Noise from Vista Roof Opening Panel ? 2015-2016 Ford F-150 | ford.oemdtc.com). Could be weather striping and that's usually the case. In the past I was able to reinforce them with latex tubing to get rid of any noise (usually wind related) but that didn't work here. Problem is I guarantee that if I took it into the dealership they would say they couldn't reproduce the noise and if they did a ride along they likely wouldn't hear it as it is right by the driver's head and it can't always be reproduced. Has to be at the right angle and slow speed to do it. My guess at this point is that it may be a cab mount or a loose rivet/glue pop somewhere in the layers of aluminum body panels that are attached together that way. Sucks but I'll probably have to live with it. I think a dealer may do more harm than good in trying to chase this down.
While these noises are notoriously hard to track down, when I bought a 2001 Dakota Quad Cab new, the was a popping sound that only happened when turning one direction. Turned out to be a bolt between the front fender and cab that wasn't tight (enough). Strange how these sounds can be transmitted though the bodywork sometimes...
Keep us posted on what you find and hope it gets taken care of for you!

Check for missing bolts in the console....the same guy at the factory that installed mine might have installed yours
any updates? I have a rattle coming from the rear drivers side. I have gone through everything I can think of. I checked the back seat its latched, checked of the little rubber bumpers on the door, checked the seal. it seems to only happen when the body flexes. anyway it is driving me crazy!
OP complained of a pop by his head. I have a "tick" sound from the B pillar up high...best I can tell its when the body is flexing the B pillar cover or maybe even the airbag is rubbing on body...sounds like plastic on plastic/metal to me. only have 3700 miles so I will report when it goes in for its first service.

I had the same thing in B Pillar up high as you say. It was the seat belt inside the molding jiggling around. Five minute fix.
Yes I know exactly what it is and how to fix it. Poor design, defective and insufficient weatherstripping and door misalignment and adjustment. I simply purchased some additional universal weatherstripping (Metro MW78348) available at Autozone or online. It's a perfect fit into the recessed channel in between the factory weatherstrip and the inner door opening. I cut it to the length I wanted.
