Bad instrument cluster. Stuck on full and wacky tach
I have a 2000 F550 with only 57,000 miles and the fuel gauge reads full most of the time and every once in awhile the tach goes dead. I replaced the sending unit already and checked all the wiring and grounds. I eventually took the cluster out of the F550 and put it into my F350. It was doing the same thing in my F350 and the cluster from the F350 worked in my F550. I'm 99.99% sure the cluster is bad. I've called around and most places only fix the speedometer on the 99-01 clusters. No one will fix a non-working fuel gauge. I'm about to tear into it and was looking for advise from anyone who's repaired the circuit board on one of these. I don't want to replace it with one from a junkyard only because I doubt I'll find one with that low of miles

Go to eBay type in F550 gauge cluster, options will pop up from clusters to repair services. I bought a cluster last Fall off eBay when I couldn’t fix my odometer, it’s worked fine. Regarding changing the mileage... I ONLY changed the far left 2 digits, bigger teeth on the gears so less chance to damage anything.

Thanks. I sent it off to a friend who thought he fixed it. Threw it in and still had a problem. I got a used cluster and switched out the odometer from the low mile cluster to the replacement. Real easy.
