75 4x4 390 fe engine mounts

OK so I was trying to bolt the tranny to the cross member and it won't line up at all. The cross member is in correctly so the only thing I can think of is the motor mounts are backwards or on the wrong side. Am I thinking correctly or not? Anyone got some pics of there's by chance?

Thanks

The motor mounts are left and right. Furthermore the frame brackets have two set of holes that they can be installed into. Now, I'm assuming your 4x4 is the same set up as my 4x2...but that could be wrong, so I apologize if I'm unfamiliar. On my truck, with the 390 and C-6, the frame brackets go into the rear-most set of holes. The other holes will move the hole set-up forward about 3 inches. The motor mounts on the engine have a dot over the bolt. The dot goes up and the open side (three sides are surrounded by metal and one is not) faces forward.

well I swapped the mounts around and I still am unable to get the tranny bolted down to the cross member. if I bolt the cross member in the tranny mount hits the cross member on top. I don't have the tranny mount 180 out. so I have no clue what the heck is going on. any ideas????

Thanks Tim

There's only one rear rubber insulator, bolts to the rear engine support (aka cross member).

However, there are two different FE 4WD rear engine supports:

D4TZ-6A023-A .. 1973/76 F100/150 360 4WD C6 & M/T

D8TZ-6A023-B .. 1973/76 F250 360 4WD A/T & M/T; 1973/76 F350 360/390 T-19 4 M/T & C6; 1974/76 F250/350 360/390 Crew Cab 2WD M/T & C6; 1974/76 F100/250 Super Cab 2WD 360/390 C6.

Yes I understand that there is only one rubber tranny mount but the cross member it sits on, I am unable to get bolted down. I can get one bolt on but the other side is off by Atleast and inch. I didn't have an issue taking the tranny out so I'm not sure if I have something else messed up with the engine mounts or what?

This is the only good pic I have right now. If you need better ones let me know. I will put it on my lift and take more recent, finished ones.

Tim, hope these help. It's tight by the t/c, about an inch clearance from the 2 1/2 inch pipe. My muffler sits just behind the t/c.

Wow that is tight. Yes that helps. Thanks. Mine is about the same. My issue is my fuel lines are running down the same side and with the exhaust right there I don't know how well that's going to work. Guess we will see
