Power loss while Towing
Hey all...new here and have a question I hope someone can help with. I have a Pioneer RG26 Toyhauler Dry weight 5254 lbs. My Harley weighs @ 750-800 lbs. After @ 2 - 2.5 Hrs of towing, the "Engine Power Loss" message comes on. Engine does loose power, but still pulls. It has happened the last 2 times out. If I pull over and shut off for 15-20 mins, all is ok. I am at a loss as my mechanic has no clue. Any ideas appreciated.

Moved to the 6.4 section for more assistance since this is motor related.
My guess is there is a code just that you didn't have the right reader to see the code.
I am going to guess P2008 for the code. Which is your HPFP. A lot of the early 2008 can get the code for various reasons.
But since you say it will reset upon shut off I am going to suggest you take into ford so they can scan it and tell you what codes you actually have.
Speak with them first so you know the cost but most likely it would be a 1 hour diagnostic fee.
