2004 E350 SD transmission compatability

New to site.
Have a 2004 E350 cutaway.
5.4L V8
It has a 4R100. (4C2P 7000 EA)

Wondering what years that will swap.
Some info I have seen says 2004 is its own year.
Other years Trans will physically bolt up, but electronics are different.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think the electronics changed from 2000-2004. Some 1999 models were different, so avoid those.

Thank you very much for the info.

There is a locally available one out of a wrecked 2002-2003 that is a
4L 1c2p-Ac
with a
100,000 on the clock.

Just not 100% sure if it'll work.

I don't understand why you would put a 100k trans in w/o rebuilding it.
but
if you are going to rebuild it, why not just rebuild what you have?

The other one was free. But I decided against it...the original
is out and off to be rebuilt.
