I have a 06 6.0 no start . I was at a light felt a slight shudder went to take off felt another shudder and it just died. Changed fuel filters, unplugged icp no start still. No code at first now throwing p2291. Fuel pressure is at 62 when cranking. Hooked up air to the icp port and only heard air coming out of both valve covers inlets. Ipr was at I believe 60 to 65% when cranking. Any help I would greatly appreciate. Little back round 2 years ago I did the whole sinister diesel top end kit and put the updated parts in. New o rings on everything that took them, new egr valve, standpipes and dummy plugs. On the injectors all new o rings and crush washers. I believe that's everything.
You need to command the IPR shut when air testing or everything will leak air.
I wired it up and closed the ipr with the battery the only air and gurgling I could here was from the passenger side valve cover I noticed a change from closed ipr to open ipr. There was no change in the driver side and no air coming from anywhere in the middle. Do you think my no start issue could be a passenger side fuel injector leak.
Also when cranking and looking at my edge cts. It showed
icp pressure not over 400 bouncing from 200 to 400.
Icp voltage 0.05
Ipr 85%
Unplugged icp
IPR 55%
Icp 1193
Ficm sync 1
Ficm volts 47.5 to 48.5
Ok I'm pulling both valve covers now. It has updated stand pipes and dummy plugs. Could the leak I'm hearing in there be from a oring on the dummy plug or standpipes. Thank you very much for responding.
Pulled valve covers and applied air . I heard nothing coming out from anywhere except gurgling coming from oil filter housing. When I powered the ipr closed no change in gurgling but the ipr is functioning.. I pulled dummy plugs and standpipes I noticed the white Teflon washer on them were broke but the o rings in good shape.
After doing all these air tests at different stages I pulled the ipr just to make sure it's operating it was and there was more debris on screen not alot but seemed magnetic. I'm have tempted to just throw a hpop at it with the new ipr valve and stc valve. I just don't want to be wrong. Is there a way to visually inspect hpop and stc fitting to see if something is bad.
