Does anybody else think these seats are uncomfortable?
Anything over about 1 hour and the middle of my back starts to hurt. I have tried the lumbar support adjustment and messing with all the seat controls, but I have not found a good comfortable setting/spot yet.
I realize my 2005 F250 was well broken in, but I did not figure the seats would be this bad.
Try sitting in them for a 12 hr shift day after day. We have a '17 F-450 ambulance at work that I've spent a lot of time in. Yes the seats aren't the best. It seems that the seat bottoms are a little shorter than previous generations and my legs start to hurt. This truck is an XLT with no power driver seat, however we have 2 2015/ 1 2016 F-350 CCLB 4x4 supervisor trucks that are XL trim with cloth seats non-power and the seats are 100X's better in size and comfort.
Seats are prefect for me. I have zero pain. Just finished 1800 mile road trip over the past 3 days and I feel fine. I have a lariat with leather bucket interior.
I found the KR seats to be more comfortable than the Lariat seats. To me, the Lariat seats seemed firmer, like German car seats. The KR seats felt cushier, like typical American seats.
The seats in my '17 Super Duty Platinum seem to be comfortable enough. A little on the firm side but none the less adequate for me. Everyone needs to keep in mind that all body shapes, sizes and weights are going to make it difficult to be made comfortable for everyone.
I actually love my seats, they have tons of room to spare (and I am a big guy at 6'5" and 300 lbs). Plenty of support and I don't start to squirm on a long drive at all. Seat massage seems to do exactly what it's supposed to do with keeping blood flowing.
I actually think the drivers seat at least is very comfortable. I just have the XL trim level with some upgraded options. Traded in my 2005 and find the 2017 have better seats. I'm not a very tall or heavy guy though so that could be a factor.

That is true that you won't be able to make everyone happy, but in my opinion Ford did a better job on the 2005 seats so far. I can also understand why Ford would want to have their truck use as many common parts as possible between the different model lines.
It does not mean I have to like it. I am sure others don't like it as well, so that is why I am asking to see if other people agree and what can be done to make it better.
Or maybe Ford only sells the "more" comfortable seats with the higher trim packages? I am only kind of kidding on that......
