Any way to turn up the gain on the OE Sony Amp?

Those that have only replaced the factory speakers in doors and A pillar, how satisfied are you with the improvements gained?

Thanks but a stereo shop here in Houston quoted me $5000 for a JL Audio 900/5 and replacement Audio Frogs, and 8" sub and DSP and was like yeah right. I still may do an amp but that price is retarded.

Any boxes that replace the Sony OE sub?

Anybody else get by with a cheap upgrade and find a big improvement?

I am not going to spend a lot of money on a car stereo any more but this stock sound is awful.

 

Agree stock Sony sound system is embarrassing in a vehicle this hi tech.

I'm looking at Diamond audio and Frogs. The JL is nice too, but I'm liking Diamond even better.

well I say you don't know what good sounds like then ... sony system is leap years behind my bose in my 16 denali .. I miss that quality sound . sony is getting new n improved for sure ....

 

Bad? No. But not nearly as good as my 10 year old Rockford-Fosgate system that came from the factory in my Nissan Titan.

 

I too don't think the stock Sony sound system sounds that bad. Only drawback is you can t turn it up too much without it distorting but aside from that it sounds pretty clean. But personally, I need loud *** music and so I'm doing a complete overhaul on the audio system. You can check it out here.

Yeah, the ONLY thing Bose is good at is marketing.

You know what they say - All highs, no lows, must be Bose....

 

I want to add 2 10's behind the rear seat, I staged some low profile rockfords back there and it looks like they'll fit, but I can't tell with the angle of the seat when its pulled up.

Anyone have box sizes that fit back there, or know of a box that does?
