Fairly easy to measure the movement of the pushrod. Eccentrics can go flat, but I'd bet in 90% of the cases, the problem is a poorly made offshore pump, as Pete found out.
The gasket on manifold looks thin already... but i read in another post to use a rubber washer in the basket that goes over the rod, effectively making the rod longer. I think that's a good idea and might try it.

Purchased a couple years ago from Mac Auto. Less than 5 hours of use.
Mine's from LMC truck. And when i activate it manually (it takes some pressure after initially easy push) it does have good suction.
Because this WAS the reason my dad thought the truck stopped running > 25 years ago I'm thinking something might have worn or broken just enough to not push that last little bit. I'll try the washer and if that doesn't work try and find an electric.
