67 F100 Desert Runner

I just picked up this project truck that someone converted to run around in the desert. I think it has a lot of potential. It has a 351W, C6, PS,PDB,AC. It is a bit on the rough side, but has no rust. I will post more when I get get it running.

That'll be a fun truck! I would like to build one like that for blasting around out here. The roads out at lake pleasant would be sweet.

Was that the one that's been on Craigslist for awhile?

Yeah I know what you mean, to me it has a Zombie Apocalypse chase vehicle vibe.

I aim to take it out to pleasant this year, and yes it is the one from Craigslist.

I dig the hood scoop and triple stack air cleaners, but the best feature would be that it has A/C, if it works.
Looks like there is a chalk for a motorcycle tire in the 'bed area'. It would looks cool to have an appropriate vintage, mad max style dirt bike for a bed ornament.
Definitely has a menacing look/vibe to it, perhaps from to many 'chemicals' consumed during it's constructions. I dig it.

that,s a cool looking truck. i always liked the pre-runner look. however i do not think that is a 67 unless someone has changed the doors. they have 68 or newer doors on it. it looks like it has buttons you push down to lock the truck. still it,s a cool truck. i wish the grill in my 67 was that good.

It is a 67, but as you can see it is a put together kind of a truck, thanks for pointing that out.

I have replaced the steering rag joint and fired up the engine. It sounds stock no cam, but quiet through the exhaust to the rear bumper.

The fuel cell is nasty with old gas and needs a total clean out. I think the foam tank damper disintegrated over time and looks like an echo system. Anyhow well worth the money to fix up.

Now that's an interesting find. I'm bettin' the PO has more money in the shifter and hood scoop than you paid for the whole truck. let alone the steering wheel, valve covers, and air cleaner. How are the front cab mounts? There is something weird going on with the angle of the steering column housing and the angle of the shaft coming out of it. I'm popping up the popcorn to watch this one!

Funny how you said the word "roasted" Pat. After all, this is the desert. And Phoenix is "The Valley Of The Sun".

Hello Jeff, the steering column is out of a mustang, and yes I did check the cab mounts. They are pretty flat, it will be a challenge to change them since the roll bar is welded to the frame in 10 locations. Not much room to lift the cab.
