The dashboard has become tacky, especially on the lift up cover on top of the dash. I tried using a mild soap, but that did not remove the tackiness. I don't want to try anything too strong and cause more problems. Any suggestions? Call Ford customer care, and they were useless.
What year model? My 2012 did the same thing. I started noticing dust was sticking to it even when you would wipe it off with a microfiber towel. It isn't like that anymore and I didn't do anything to it.
My past 15, and now my 16' Super Duty's are also the same way. I've always assumed when I have it washed, (about once a week) they used some kind of product that made it that way. I do know they use Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner on the seats. Other than that, IDK.
Mine is the same way. Gets bad when exposed to sun / heat.
I have the same exact thing with my 16. Gets bad when it sits in the sun...I'm in South Florida so you can imagine how bad mine gets! Whenever I'm going to be away from the truck for more than just a few minutes I put my windshield shade up.
I've had a couple of radio/cd players I've bought at garage sales that were sticky. I used isopropyl alcohol to clean it off. Try a small spot first and see if it will work.
