On a 2015 F150 SCrew, Lariat, Optioned up, is the material covering the dash over the instruments and glove box , leather. Not refering to the obviously hard plastic in the center dash or edges. Also on the "leather" seats, is the material covering the seats (power, heated and cooled) leather? Can one use the standard leather cleaning products sold by a local auto parts store (Armour All & Maguire) on these surfaces. Has there been any cracking or issues related to sunlight damage to the dashboard. Does it need to be covered? . It gets pretty hot in Austin, Texas, lots of sun! Thanks
Dash is plastic, including the 'stitched' parts. Seats are leather. The truck has barely been out a year, so I'd surely hope no one's dash is cracking yet.
The seats are leather, the dash is leatherete, whatever the hell that is.
Please be careful about which product you use on your seats, armor all shouldn't be used as it will clog the pores and eventually turn your seats into old cow hide.
Any mild interior cleaner will work, and saddle soap for the really bad messes. You can get a 2 pound tin for about 5 bucks.A good non lanolin based rejuvenator three, four times a year does wonders.
That's pretty normal - my x5 is the same. My wife drives a Merc and her seats are plastic - mTex or something like that. Frankly, I think they meel more like good quality leather than the real leather in the Platinum I drove the other day. They certainly have held up well. They look brand new after 6 years. If Ford offered that as an option, I'd get it.
