I saved $45 by choosing the Bed Extender over the Bed Divider...when I ordered my truck. Although I don't usually use it as an extender, the option is always there. On a lot of my older trucks I used a 2x10 board cut to fit as a "home made" bed divider.

The 2x10 works nice. With the EcoBoost everything pretty much stays pinned against the tailgate anyway.

I simply use tarp bungees, I buy them at truck stops They work just fine for keeping stuff from sliding to the front.

This is what I am used to...

Thanks, all. It looks like I will be skipping the bed extender for now, or at least until I get a chance to live with the 5.5' bed for a while. 5 weeks to go until delivery...

had a metal bed extender in my last 2 trucks and it was ALWAYS in the way. We upgraded it to a pressure treated 2x6 that can easily be dropped in to hold groceries in the back, or laid flat when carrying a large load. FAR superior and cost about ten bucks!

Same problem with the 6.2, except the way I drive it gets thrown to the left and right during hard cornering and then to the front of the bed when braking haha

Has anyone considered just a cargo bar? Stows easily. You can slip it under the back seat, or you could leave it in place, and it wouldn't bounce around. They're about $40 most places I've seen them.

I guess it depends what you haul and how often.

I've used mine twice this week, in two different ways.
