Here's a tonner for somebody. I'm tapped out for a while. Best I've ever seen offered. 1946 Ford Other Pickups One | eBay

Didn't somebody post a few weeks ago about these trucks, then come back saying they'd been crushed? Not absolutely sure I recall what the story was, but do know they've both been on either FTE or Ford Barn recently. This is a real nice tonner. Stu

Yeah, it's the guy that brings Canadian trucks to southern California. It is a very nice truck though, very nice

That's right.... The Canadian guy, but this isn't the truck from a month ago is it? He does a good job of marketing with nice photos and not a lot of ugly junk in the background.

Ah, I was curious why an obviously Canadian truck had a clear California title.

The other thing I noticed is the body color headlight and marker light surrounds. I wonder if its a late 45 truck?

So much to learn, and so much previous owners coulda changed..... The '47 titled tonner pu I just bought has ribbed stainless headlight rings and stainless parking light bezels. Oh wait, one stainless parking light bezel was missing but I just found one under the seat of another truck in a ziplock bag. See, there ya go. Never too many trucks or parts trucks.....

It is a nice example but the seller is not that sharp. Spend all that time waxing it up and not even see if it turns over.`He wants all the money without doing any of the work. It should be running and stopping if it's capable. just sayin...

I would not have washed or waxed it, but get it running as is.

Just down the freeway from me. I'll be glad to check it out if anyone is interested.

I really don't spend any time on Ebay. The one time I bid on something I thought I had it, but at the last minute the ids came flooding in and I couldn't keep up. Can we expect this sort of thing with this tonner? I'm really interested in seeing what it goes for, as my stable will have to augment my retirement (if that ever happens).....

I predict it's pretty flattened out at 6 grand.

I would say about 50-55 or so. The 38 tonner came with 4:11 gear rearend, but according to Jame's Wagner this was too tall for most uses and was lowered in '39. My original tonner PU was a 38 and it would keep up on the freeway with 7.50 x 17s at almost 34" tall. With those tires it was effectively geared higher than many modern trucks (with 4:11s) as a 7.50 x 16 is about 32" tall. My '47 tonner panel is the only other tonner I have driven and never off the island so I can't really test it for 50-55 mph.

This has been listed here before and on other sites – just guess the price is too much or it would have sold or the demand is not great for these jail bird Fords.

Lawrence, stop making up stories. It’s my truck and I’ve never advertised it anywhere until now. And it’s a No Reserve Auction with several bids so far, so you saying the price is too much makes no sense.

I messaged the owner via Ebay asking about the drivetrain condition. The engine is froze but the rest of it rolls. I'm sure all the mechanicals would need gone through. I haven't got time or resources for it either, but gotta admit the body is pretty decent on it. I'm curious to see what it goes for.
