So I have had my 99 F350 PSD for about 11yrs and it has served me well. 317K and she is still my daily driver. After looking at some pics the other day, my wife and I decided it was time to start shopping for a "new" truck. I wont buy brand new but I am looking at a 2014 thru 2016, F250 or F350, (pull 3 horse slant load trailer regularly and about 12K of hay every other month.)
I definitely want a Lariat, 4dr, long bed. 4x4
I commute about 68 miles one way to and from work 4 days a week.
So... what are some of the common issues, fixes and complaints that come with these 6.7 PSDs?
Special things I should look for and/or avoid?
Thanks all!
I found this awhile back and it has a lot of information on it. This is my first diesel but I'm sure someone here will answer you that has more knowledge than I. Hopefully it helps you out. If I find anything else in my favorites Super Duty folder because I have a lot saved, I'll post it up.
CURTIS!!!!!! Holy crap brudda. long time no hear. Now I know why. you left the dark side!
It isn't a matter of IF, but WHEN I get one. Soon as I pay off the wife's Yota, I get a new truck. Or get rid of the tractor payment.
PM when you have some free time. Ya need to visit... if ya feel like driving down to Falcon.
Haha it has been a while. Didn't know you moved south. Smart to get away from the crazy Denver traffic.
When you do get one of these trucks, you'll really like it. Ford has worked out most bugs now, it's just a matter of being religious about the maintenance. The nice part is the truck tells you when to do it all so you don't have to think about it much.
The quietness, smoothness, and creature comforts all make it worth it.
