Push the accel pedal as far down as it wil go before spinning the tires then when you're ready to take off let off the brake and push the accel pedal down to the floor
or you could put bigger injectors, big turbo, big tune
In all seriousness... DON'T mash the go-pedal. Roll in to it and hold old it back from WOT for the first couple gears.
This is from a long time ago, but IIRC if you put it to the floorboard the PCM overrides the pedal input and follows a programmed input. Might have only been a deal on the PCM with the 6sp, to stop people from nuking the clutch in L. It's been years since this came up though, and I can't find whatever it was from back then that brought it up.
Mike, I tried the high out put spark plugs. Replaced my glow plugs with them. All it did was melt my glow plug harness kill my batteries and made a mess under the hood. I will admit I did not use OEM they were Chinese knock offs. But still I expected more than that.
Do not do that, it will create more of a lag issue.

This is correct, when you go about 3/4 of the way down with a quick roll in, the truck won't lag as bad.

Your not very specific about the truck...........
You could do a turbo delete, that would cure the lag.

Actually know a guy that had an old Monte Carlo back in high school with the 350 Olds diesel, super rare in a Monte. It was running like dog doo and some of us told him to take it to the dealer and have them update the muffler belt and install the high output spark plugs.
He did just that and was not happy the next time we saw him and asked him about it.
Custom tune at Gearhead Automotive and EGR delete would make her take off like a gasser.
You notice a difference with the EGR delete? I would guess its from the turbo gasses not having to cycle through anything? But im by no means an engumaneer
That won't even get the tuner to load the $150 tune you need. Or the other $150 FICM tune or tuner... let see, were at $1000 just for the tuner (s) and tunes.
And we haven't even talked about go-fast parts yet. Better call the treasury department, you'll need a special run of those for the "go faster" truck.

Haha, so true.
People and all their horsepower upgrades.
I know you have some upgrades in this dept Randy, and I have a little one.
But unless someone gets as fast as a SR-71 BlackBird or a Top Alcohol car, I don't pay much mind to it anymore.
There will always be someone faster.
But then again, its all about customizing, which I get.
