squeaking sterring wheel
I changed the steering wheel on my 78 F150 a few months back and now I have a squeak that seems to be getting worse. When I did the installation I thought I had used plenty of the lube but perhaps not. Can I lube it without having to pull the mount again? I am worried that if I just try to jam some lube in there I may contaminate something. Appreciate some advice.

Mine was squeaking for the longest time, I tried using wd and grease and even replaced the bearing which was dry. Still had a squeak until I put some anti sieze in the groove on the steering wheel where the two copper contact brushes rub the wheel. Hasn't made a squeak since.

Yes sorry there really is no right way to lube anything without removing it. I have a puller and it take maybe 2 minutes. If you don't have one some auto parts stores will rent one then refund on return or lend one out in the parking lot.
