Yes, I managed to accomplish this on my 17 XLT. Here is your parts list. You will need Forescan and cable to turn everything on and program door modules... yes the door modules must be replaced.Left skull cap
Very curious about this because I work at a gravel pit and my XL gets washed everyday in the way home. Gets old getting out and folding mirrors in. Can you give us a call park of what the parts cost you?

Unfortunately, from what I saw on a 17 XL, XL’s will not support the addition of powerscope/fold mirrors. You would think that they’d all have the same standard body harness’s and lesser packages would just have unused wiring... but the XL’s only have just what they require. I had to confirm that my XLT’s harness was going to support this upgrade and even after that it was still a huge gamble because I could not find one person that did it successfully and every dealer I even talked to said it can’t be done... the answer was always you should have bought a Lariat... then, in 18, XLTs started coming from the factory with powerscope/fold already installed for only a couple hundred dollar upcharge... the mirrors alone after the fact are $600-700 ea + all other parts, I’m into it well over $1500.
Thanks for the heads up. I will do my research before jumping too far in. However, I refuse to believe the dealers. They told me no way to add cruise and some other things on my XL if it did not come with them but with a little brain power I figured it all out so far.
You can add the mirrors, I did it to a 2012 F150 Lariat. Be prepared to spend 2k plus, do a lot of cussing, and research. I did the complete install myself. I would not do it again, the reward is not worth the effort and money spent.

Your best and easiest places to start looking are gonna be behind the left vent trim, & panel under the steering wheel. If you pull your left vent trim and find a plug plugged into a holding spot on the trim, then that is for the spot lamp switch. If you pull the panel below the steering wheel, IIRC slightly towards the right you should find a plug, plugged into a holding spot doing nothing.. that is where the mirror lighting processor (spot lamp module) is supposed to live. If you find these there, then chances are your body harness is equipped to handle the upgrade. One last investigation is to pull the flex apart at the body, between the door and the body. If you can pull the body harness out of the body, you can verify that there enough wires there to support the upgrade. This can be done using applicable wiring diagrams.... which I do not have of course. Sorry.

That was a Lariat package. They usually come built with body harness's to support these upgrades, because the higher trim levels usually come standard with stuff like this. IMO the hardest part was the door harness's and even that wasn't that hard. If you have to get into running additional wires and pinning, then yeah I would agree its a huge headache... but once I had all the parts in hand, its only a 2-3 hour job.
I was looking around to where I might find this information, as I have a 2018 F250 XLT, that came only heated and and power glass. I want the power fold/scope. I've followed many threads here and on the F150, it can all get confusing after a while. I will log my efforts and ask my questions and hopefully help someone else if I can. Thanks to Big Dirty for the list of parts he used on his mod. I will list mine also, once I determine what they are. Some of the P/Ns listed are no longer available. Also, for the mirrors , I'm going to use the Trail Ridge aftermarkets. They are about a third of the price of the Ford part. I have them on order and will update the thread once all the parts are in. I'm looking forward to this.
So , it's been a while. I received the Trailridge mirrors a while back and they installed nicely. The only problem was one of the mirrors came with a slight bend in the plastic in the bottom corner. I called 1A-Auto and they shipped me out a new one and didn't want me to send the damaged one back even though it works fine just a slight bend in it. Switching the #18 and #19 pins was the hardest part of the mod, it took me quite a while to get them out. I then ordered the modules and wiring harness from Tasca. The harnesses were on Back Order so, I asked to just cancel them and send the rest of the order which also included some switches. However, I then saw on ebay someone was selling the entire switch package, so I ordered them also and figured I could resale the other when they come in. The ebay order came first then the Tasca box came yesterday.
I then proceeded to install the modules and the driver side door switch. At first I couldn't seem to get to the power fold to work correctly using the codes, so I tried using the easy English method of "enable" and "disable" and this seem to work. I opted to use the non-Lincoln version, and so far I am very please.
My only issue now is I need to get the Power Telescoping feature to work. I have the switch in my door panel but there is no wire connector from the harness to connect to the switch. So I guess I have to order the harness after all and just wait for them to come in. Thanks everyone for your contributions to this forum, this thread and the Forscan information...I've read a lot of info
UPDATE: A side effect of what I've done seems to be that my front power windows no longer have the quick up feature. I've tried the re-learning method I've seen on YouTube, where you bring the windows up and down and hold for a second, But each time I've tried, the method doesn't seem to work.
Anyone else having this issue, have a solution? Please let me know.
