So I have a problem which is requiring me to switch one and or both fuel pumps. When I look on autozone for replacement pumps, there are a bunch of notes about rear mount, plastic vs steel tank, etc and I want to make sure I get the right one. I have a 1993 gasoline f350 4x4 460 and the tanks are metal. When the note says rear mount, is that referring to the rear tank, vs the front one, ore something to do with how the pump installs. Also, a lot of them say "top flange not included," is the top flange something I will be able to reuse from the old pumps? Here is a link to a product with the notes I am asking about: Premium Fuel Fuel Pump B5311001 - Read Reviews on Premium Fuel #B5311001
I think they are calling the top flange the hanger that it mounts to and yes you can use it again. But you may need a new big "O" ring and the ring that attaches the hanger to the tank.
It says it "Includes all applicable installation components" so the big "O" ring and the ring that attaches the hanger to the tank should come with it.
I think they are saying rear mount meaning the rear tank.
Sounds great, thanks. Worst case scenario The pump is different than the one I remove and I have to take it back and get the right one. Autozone is only a couple miles from me.
