Exhaust Brake: Difference between Normal and Auto (A)

Towing our toy hauler with the F250 for the first time next weekend. First diesel truck for me and not finding a ton of info on the differences between the two settings.

I have driven with both settings on and did not notice much of a difference.

My understanding, don't have my truck yet, but on Auto, it works with other systems (like cruise control) to use the exhaust brake rather than service brake to slow you. Normal mode is like the old fashioned Exhaust brake where it is always on to help slow you down, but again, I'm not 100% sure of how the "normal" setting works, I only really researched the Auto setting and assumed Normal was normal, lol.
