Hi all, just wondering if anyone has or is familiar with a 2001-2003 SP Diesel "SSEBTC"PowerStroke Exhaust Brake with Torque Converter Control, I am looking to get an exhaust brake for my truck but not sure which one. Thanks in advance, David
Decel tune- this is used instead of an expensive exhaust brake. It performs the same function by using the EBPV to slow the trucks down. Certain transmission strategies are used for auto transmissions to help save internal components during deceleration.
I use it on my truck while towing and it works really well.
Thanks for the replies, spoke with Diane on Tues. and the F6 is in the mail with updated tunes and decel. It was time for an update anyways. Thanks goes to Diane for answering all my ?'s and getting it on its way. They sure are great to work with. Thanks again, David
RRE- Riff Raff East. It was an event Clay at riff raff sponsored in TN, hence the east part. Since he did one out west we needed a way to know wich one people were talking about.
EBPV- Exhaust back pressure valve. You ever hear your truck kick into high idle when its cold out and it sounds like a jet engine? Thats what does it. It puts a load on the motor to help warm it up.
Nope...didn't take it out. But Kevin at Black Magic Performance (a genuine PowerStroke guru) said the early 99 motors like mine don't have an EBPV. I guess they didn't start putting them in until late 99.

Thanks for the quick reply. That is why i love this place. Do all 7.3 that are stocks have the EBPV? The original owner did not do any mods to this truck so I know he didn't remove anything. How or where do I look to find the EBPV?
