Help with carb spacer

This is my first post to the forum, I just joined, and I'm stumped on this carburetor spacer that I pulled off the truck. I'm starting the process of restoring my grandfather's Farm dump truck which is a 1969 F350 with the 360 engine. The spacer was underneath the carburetor and one function of it was that it was connected to the coolant hoses that ran to the heater core in the brake booster on the back, but other than that I have no clue what other functions it serves or served. I'm just wondering what this is actually called, what it does, and if I can get parts to restore it?

That is a governor. I doubt this came as original equipment on an F-350. I've seen them on trucks and buses in the 600 to 700 series with medium duty and heavy duty engines.

Ha! That's awesome! Thanks Mrtaterhead for clearing that up. I had no clue what that was, never seen one in my life but when I saw the post I was curious.

Yeah I kind of see thatnow. The flaps been taking off on that. I know that this was actually a model F351 so the gross vehicle weight was 10000 pounds instead of 8000. But when I go back I'll have to look to see if there is any Governor mounted on the engine.

Thank you, thank you both for helping me out with figuring this part out. Could any one of you elaborate on what each connection or stick out is? Specifically the two plugged up hoses, the little pin that pokes into one of the ports, and if anything connects to the governor on the side? I know that's allot to ask. But let's me be able to find those connections, if at all in the engine compartment. I have ordered the shop manuals on CD and are about to be shipped.

Wasn't IMCO a company that provided propane conversions for gas engines in the 70-80's? Is that a propane metering device besides being a governor?

If I remember correctly, the two black plastic lines went to an additional housing on the distributor.

IMCO = Improved Combustion Emission Control System, introduced in 1967. Three port distributor vacuum control valve threads into the thermostat housing.
