Hello there folks I'm curious if you could help me out and decode this vin I have a 4000 pound trailer Im hoping to tow can you let me know what my max is and if the tranny is good enough to tow and all that stuff thank you so much.
That is a '93 or '94 pickup so tow rating is based on the powertrain combo(engine, trans, axle ratio), and the ratings themselves can be found in the owners manual. Looking at the certification decal I can see it has the E4OD trans and a 3.55LS axle but I'd have to decode the VIN to get the engine. That isn't necessary though as even with the 4.9 this truck has a 10000lb GCWR which means you could tow a trailer weighing up to about 5000lbs and that goes even higher with the two V8s that were available. So yes you can do it but a trailer brake controller is manditory as this trucks brakes are marginal at best.
I agree that a truck should have LT tires, but if it was rated for passenger tires stock there shouldn't be a problem towing within the limits set by Ford while following the tire pressures on the placard.

Certainly not a problem or a show stopper. But P-metric tires are not going to feel as solid as D or E rated LT tires.
I'd say it's more a matter of confidence than anything else.
They're "P" tires, but the cert label indicates the OEM tires were "XL" (extra load) type and construction. At 41 psi max load inflation, they're good for 2,183 lbs. each, or 4,366 lbs. for both. The rear axle GAWR is but 3,776 lbs., so the OEM-spec tires should be good to go.
I had the same size/spec tires on my '86 Suburban many years ago, and I had no problem towing loads within GM's guidelines.
