OK, getting ready for our first trip, trailer hooked up, trailer I am towing input and "active". Engine running. No 12v to trailer for battery charging etc.
Any thoughts.
NM.. it appears Ford installed a fuse.. but not the relay.. The fuse came first in the manual.. (27 vs 37) for the relay.. who woulda thunk I need to check for both.. if one was there??? Let me track one down and see if that fixes my issue..
I assume if you have tow package listed in your description, you have the factory built in brake controller and All 2017 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a factory trailer brake controller (TBC) utilize a trailer module (TRM) which initiates the trailer charging system. For trailer charging to operate, the TRM must detect a trailer is connected and a brake pedal input before charging will be present at the trailer connector. Adding the trailer battery charge relay and fuse into the battery junction box are not required to operate trailer charging with a TRM

"brake pedal input before charging will be present at the trailer connector"
So you are saying the only time the charge circuit to the trailer is hot is when the truck brakes are activated?

Did not do it. I moved the trailer a couple hundred feet from the barn to the RV pad at the house to start loading. No 12v.
My wife points out she didn't connect the umbilical until we got up on the parking pad. That was after I stopped and set the parking brake.. so.. went out reconnected, started truck.. stepped on brake. WALLA.
I could find nothing in the manual that explains it. I have the hard copy, a .pdf on my laptop and on my phone. Even searching the .pdf for that phrase or the (TRM) string.. nothing. I don't know what literature he found it in, but it isn't the owners manual.
