Sigh...A "quick" brake job has quickly avalanched and I'm looking at replacing my right side spindle.
The brakes were making a bad sound so I went to take a look, and the caliper slide pins were frozen, the piston side pad is worn right into the steel and the rotor is pretty well shot. Shoot! And, to top things off, the ball joints are worn!
I tried all weekend to unstick the pin but I can't get it free. Things I've tried:
-Heat
-PB
-Vice Grips
-Pickle Wedge
-Welding on a nut to turn the pin
-Kicking it
-Cussing
No luck and I'm ready to move on and get a new assembly but I can't find a part online that looks like mine. All of the spindle assemblies come with the ball joints (which is great since I don't know if I have much more cussing left) but the spindle assembly on my rig has the caliper carrier integrated into it. All the ones I've found online have a separate carrier.
Can anyone help me with a part number for the matching replacement, or can anyone confirm if I can replace this with an assembly+carrier?

Potential part number? Can't find it online
You can the see the slide hole (and the nut I welded onto the stuck pin)
Ah, you're right. It kept coming up so I assumed it was just the recommended one. I found this part diagram on the ford parts site but it doesn't look like they are selling the spindle anymore and I can't get a full part number from it. Seems like I'm probably unlikely to find a replacement spindle.
Are there any good resources for part number searches?
I have the same brakes. Mine suck so I went to the junkyard and got the big brakes off an 05 E150. $100 for both sides, complete. I am going to swap them over as soon as I can. Only parts discontinued for the big brakes are the splash shields. I will also be converting to rear discs.
Left is F4UZ-3106-C Right is XC2Z-3105-AA Where did you get these parts numbers? They are incorrect.
autonationfordwhitebearlake.com online parts catalog (many FoMoCo dealers have this catalog) says for 1993 E250:
F4UZ-3105-B (replaced F2UZ-3105-B) .. Right Spindle / Obsolete
M & M FORD-LINCOLN in Liberty NY has 1 = 845-292-2497.
MUSTANG'S ETC. in Van Nuys CA has 2 = 818-787-7634.
---------------------------------------------------------------- F4UZ-3106-B (replaced F2UZ-3106-B) .. Left Spindle / Obsolete
HIGH BUCK! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has 2 = 913-381-2999.
Thanks for the part numbers and the search, I've called around and the new parts are pretty $$. I think I'll head down the used route.
For the future, what is the best resource for part number searches? I couldn't figure out that site you linked.
autonationfordwhitebearlake.com was formerly Tousley Ford (White Bear Lake MN), once a FTE sponsor.
I just type Tousley on my webpage, then autonation...etc comes up.
I actually have a 1990/2001 Ford truck parts catalog (on microfiche), but I mistakenly packed the slides when I moved, so will not be able to access it until 4/20/2017.
Since I cannot use my catalog, I used the online catalog. Other dealers (on fordparts.com) also use this catalog.

Well excuse me.... I got these numbers from my work. Which happens to be a Ford dealership. The numbers are for 1992-2003 front brakes.
Don't waste your time and money, you won't gain anything out of it. The fronts do most of the work, the rear brakes wear about 25% of what the fronts wear. Then you'll also have to address converting the parking brakes too. Big pain in the *** for no gains
