Interchange question
ok folks, so I recently purchased a 2003 f250 7.3 that ran like a top.....until it didn't on my travels home I lost my throttle and gauges figured no big deal probably shift lever chafe I'll just change fuse 45. Nope I was wrong previous owner had used wire instead of a fuse obviously got sick of changing fuses. Also with the box opened I noticed the smell of burnt electronics wonderful! Got the truck towed home and removed the fuse box the trace for 45 was fried, jumped the trace to get power back to the circuit and fixed the wire chafe in the shift lever still no gauges or throttle. I have tried everything I can think of short of a new fuse box so I guess my question now is are their other options for the under dash fuse box or does it have to be from an 03? Having a hard time finding one at my local salvage yards however they have all kinds of 6.0 ones...... or the best news I would hear today is someone here has one they would part with thanks in advance for the help I just want to get my new truck on the road!

If you've restored power by jumping #45, then how do you know that the dash cluster wasn't affected? You stated that the PO put a wire in place of a fuse, I would suspect that you need to do further testing to figure out for sure all you need is another fuse panel, but here's one I found on EBay, seems reasonable.
