Adding Adaptive Cruise Control - Complete!
Hope you guys drive something with adaptive cruise before going through all the work and expense
My wifes Sienna has it ... I absolutely hate it.
I set my cruise because I want to go a certain speed.
I hate looking down and seeing I am going 62 when it was set on 73.
So grateful my f150, and my escape work car does not have it.

Why don't you just turn it off then? I happen to love it when driving a thousand miles at a time. So glad that someone has taken the time to post the technical stuff so that I can add it. I'm due for a new vehicle and refuse to purchase one without it, but it's not readily available yet on the F150 so I many just go this route.

I was thinking that might be the case. I found an aftermarket sensor for $387 on ebay so I just pulled the trigger. Kind of an iffy part to not go with OEM... we'll see I guess. Total with shipping and handling was $723 for everything.
The store I ordered the aftermarket sensor from ended up cancelling my order, so then I placed an order for what was advertised as a new-in-box FL3Z9E731D... what I received is an FL3T-9G768-AK wrapped in newspaper and a sandwich bag... both sensors seem to be for 2015+ F-150's, does anybody know what the difference is?
Well this work on a 2.7 L eco-boost
[QUOTE=Ecoboost_Morgan;17100201]Hi Everyone. I am new to this forum, not new to this industry. I have an ongoing thread on another board, but thought I would share on this platform as well.
I have a 2016 F150 502a, this will not work on XLT systems due to the harness behind the dash and IPC screen. Perform this mod at your own risk. The parts list and required FORScan changes are posted below. Enjoy!!!
BATTERY - Disconnect it.
HUD - Easy to remove the blank plate and add in the HUD module. Two retaining clips on either end with the HUD wire connected to the blank. Remove the plate with a small screw driver or trim removal tool - pops right out. Straight forward to install new trim plate and the HUD module. Easiest part of the install!
WIRING HARNESS - The new harness powers fogs and the new CCM module. The connector you can see from the top by the passenger headlight assembly. It lays horizontal in a small triangular space. Getting it out was a challenge until I removed the bumper. Three bolts on either side and the bumper is off and the harness is right there. Knowing what I know now I might be able to get the harness out without pulling the bumper, but only because I've done it one time.
SENSOR MODULE - The new bracket goes in very easy. Level the new sensor and you're good to go using the top alignment screw and a reverse torx socket. Three plastic retainers in the bumper itself; two screws in the top of the bracket to the metal frame behind it.
STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS - Make sure the battery is disconnected and that there were no airbag faults prior to disconnecting the battery. Always keep away from the face of the airbag and handle the unit VERY carefully. If dropped, do not reinstall the airbag. Getting the airbag out with two hex wrenches was easy. You can lift it right out and sit it on top of the wheel assembly. Two wiring connectors inside you need to pull off their retainer, but do not have to disconnect. One on either side (green and brown).

Need help
I can’t get the sensor calibrated for some reason.
I thought I had it level pretty good. Got everything installed and back together. I made the forscan changes and converted my VIN to hexadecimal to program the C-CM module.
Once I was completed I went to do the C-CM calibration through Forscan and follow the instructions. I tried multiple times driving for miles on different roads and it never did calibrate. When I crank the truck I get collision warning not working and front sensor not aligned messages and I have no working cruise control at all. Not even regular.
Any suggestions?

2016 f150 with equipment group 601a
know this is an old thread, but would appreciate help/direction. i have a 2016 f150 king ranch with the equipment group 601a installed. according the ford brochure all the adaptive cruise control option needed was that equipment group. so it seems to me upgrading to the adaptive cruise control should be straight forward. i live in crossville tn. appreciate any help/suggestions. don
Welcome to FYE MikeMQ1,
There are quite a few differences between this generation of truck
and the 2021 and up trucks. Try asking in the forum in the link below.

Has anyone done this one a 2019 XLT with 301A equipment package? The hard part is the truck does not have lane detection or BLIS, so you need to install the IPMA camera behind the rearview mirror, and I have yet to find someone/ a thread where someone has successfully done this or even attempted it. Thanks
