Hi Everyone. I am new to this forum, not new to this industry. I have an ongoing thread on another board, but thought I would share on this platform as well.
I have a 2016 F150 502a, this will not work on XLT systems due to the harness behind the dash and IPC screen. Perform this mod at your own risk. The parts list and required FORScan changes are posted below. Enjoy!!!
BATTERY - Disconnect it.
HUD - Easy to remove the blank plate and add in the HUD module. Two retaining clips on either end with the HUD wire connected to the blank. Remove the plate with a small screw driver or trim removal tool - pops right out. Straight forward to install new trim plate and the HUD module. Easiest part of the install!
WIRING HARNESS - The new harness powers fogs and the new CCM module. The connector you can see from the top by the passenger headlight assembly. It lays horizontal in a small triangular space. Getting it out was a challenge until I removed the bumper. Three bolts on either side and the bumper is off and the harness is right there. Knowing what I know now I might be able to get the harness out without pulling the bumper, but only because I've done it one time.
SENSOR MODULE - The new bracket goes in very easy. Level the new sensor and you're good to go using the top alignment screw and a reverse torx socket. Three plastic retainers in the bumper itself; two screws in the top of the bracket to the metal frame behind it.
STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS - Make sure the battery is disconnected and that there were no airbag faults prior to disconnecting the battery. Always keep away from the face of the airbag and handle the unit VERY carefully. If dropped, do not reinstall the airbag. Getting the airbag out with two hex wrenches was easy. You can lift it right out and sit it on top of the wheel assembly. Two wiring connectors inside you need to pull off their retainer, but do not have to disconnect. One on either side (green and brown).
Used your parts list, followed the instructions and Voila! Thanks so much for putting this together! Mine was also a 2016 Lariat 502a. Shout out to MBUSMC as well for the FORScan pointers, "we don't need no stinkin' IDS"!
I am very much considering adding this to my raptor, thanks for the wire up! Questions about the sensor...when you say to "level" the sensor, do you mean to make sure it's 90* to the bumper bracket or level with the ground?

this is what he means but “level”. The sensor needs to be pointing straight forward and not up or down too much.

Just performed this upgrade on my 2015 F150 Lariat (502A). Here are a couple of notes:
Don't over complicate the removal of your bumper. The only nuts that you need to remove are the six 21 millimeter nuts. Four are on the front of the bumper (2 on each side) and two are on the back (one on each side).
Also, once you have all of the hardware installed, when you start FORScan, do NOT use your old profile. Create a new one. This forces FORScan to recognize your cruise control module. I did not do this and could not find the C-CM module anywhere until I created the new profile.
I can attest that Ford IDS is not needed. Use FORScan to calibrate your C-CM.
Everything now works as advertised.
Thanks Ecoboost Morgan for this easy to use guide!
I'm ready to jump into this mod. I ran the hex decimal output for my vin ('16 Lariat 502a) and one cluster of digits is: 4b. Is this okay to enter into forscan when following the VIN entries? All input is greatly appreciated.

Yep. Being hexadecimal, it can have the numbers 0 through 9 and the letters A through F. Mine also had a '4b' in it and it worked, no problem. FYI, '4b' in hex corresponds to the letter 'K' in your VIN.

Thank you sir. When disconnecting the battery, just the negative is sufficient (and waiting about 30 minutes before working on removing the steering wheel airbag?
