Carb it or fix the E4OD
I was looking into it and it costs over $1500 for me to get my trans rebuilt. the trans was from a junk yard and is a '91 but my truck is a '94. So I thought, I could convert to carb and a c6 for about the same amount. I would just need donor driveshafts an intake and carb/carbs. IT seems like I would get a lot more power going this way if I were to cam it.

There is no need to go to a carb to install a C6 tranny. Without your E4OD tranny there, the check engine light will be on, but the engine will still run fine.
