Help.... urgent

While bolting my zf trans up tonight we took the transmission mount off the transmission so we could have a flat spot to jack from. While takeing the 2 mount bolts out one of the rabbit ears on the transmission broke. Both bolts was crossthreaded in. I can't even get the other bolt to start. I'm planning on just getting a grade 8 bolts just big enough to fit through the hole and put a nut on the other side with big washers. Would welding hold this? Anyone have any ideas?

If welded rite you should be fine. And yes if you buy a longer bolt with a nut you should be good to go.

The corner broke off clean in one piece. It fits back in like a puzzle piece. I'm gonna put it back in when I run a bolt through it. I'll try this method for now, and see how it holds. Monday I'll be working the phones trying to find someone to weld it.

You can Heli Coil it too and use the same size bolt. I had to do it to one of the holes on the transmission for my plow truck.
