You have an accelerometer. The controller puts in proportion to the slowing of your truck. you can not test it by simply stepping on the pedal while static! It sounds to me like your controller is working just fine. Why do you think you have a problem?

Trailer brake set on 10 barely stops by the time I go from 60 to 0 because of stop lights with a 10,000 pound trailer front brakes are smoking hot I guess I could hook it up and check the voltage while I'm driving it but it's been set on 10 for the last couple years and I've had problems from what I understand from a lot of people this doesn't have one and it works off of brake pressure switch which has a 5v reference

At 10 your trailer brakes should be locking up.
when's the last time you inspected them, all that have brakes?

Unfortunately it is a pretty complex system from what I understand a lot of people have problems with it I know a couple people right now but I'm dealing with just trying to figure it out without having to take it to the dealer

Really not very complicated, but when working, you should not feel it. The reference voltage you note using just the pedal static is about what I normally found and the same on my trucks.

When you pull your trailer break-away and a fully charged battery on your trailer, with your truck unplugged, can you move your trailer? What is the amp draw to the trailer brakes with the break-away pulled? When operating your controller manually, what is the amp draw to the trailer brakes, not voltage at the seven pin. Voltage is of very limited value when troubleshooting trailer brakes.

When I pull the emergency stop trailer brakes locked up tight will not move will drag all six tires when I manually apply with gain on 10 same thing locks up tight drag all six tires three axles when I hit the brakes on low or high barely stops have replaced two controllers pressure sensor switch getting the Fivel reference to only 2 1/2 pulled out to the controller don't know how many volts it is supposed to get to the controller from the pressure switch full 5 V or maybe only 2 1/2???

Dave,

Here's where you get stuck. You know the trailer brakes are good and you know the seven pin connection to the trailer from your truck is good so everything now is ahead of that seven pin connection.

If you were here with me, I would plug in my emulator with the 20-foot lead and take a ride with you and we could work the brakes and see what we actually had in terms of both voltage and amperage at the seven pin. You have already replaced some parts, so the likelihood doing more of the same will not change anything and you may be money ahead to have a dealer do a diagnostic on the truck system.

You know, I don't understand this. The only reason to need the trailer is if they found the truck to be good and now they want to show you it is the trailer. There are trailer emulators out there that plug right in and duplicate all the trailer circuits. I have one in my garage. If a dealership is serious about testing the seven pin circuit, why don't they? This whole issue could be resolved in 20 minutes of less.

which pins were pushed out and where? I’m sorry, I’m having the same issue. Lights work on trailer, dash registers trailer but as soon as I actuate the controller I get a no trailer message.
