I was waking around Target awhile ago and found some cool keychains. I'm a big Marvel Universe fan and have always loved the Punisher. Bought just one of these keychains initially but was then looking at it and came up with what I thought was a cool idea.
It was pretty simple to do. Just used a cutoff wheel to trim the key to fit into what would be the jaw of the keychain. Then used the Dremel to notch a recess for the key itself to stick out. Used some sandpaper to rough up the mating edges and taped off the outside and used an exacto knife to leave only the mating edges exposed. Gorilla glue epoxy held it together and even dries clear. Used the knife to clean off what oozed out after it all set.
Hoping it stays together after repeated use. The glue is supposed to take 3300 foot lbs of pressure.
Originally I was going to try and make it an all in one key fob with my remote door locks. But the electronics would not fit in the skull and I would not be able to trim them down enough.
I do want to do a proximity lock at some point and may redo this idea but with the chip in the skull and thinking some red neoprene rubber inset for the eyes. But also nervous that the rubber would just look dirty after awhile.
