Want to grease the fittings on my new F450... I want a great grease, but am not sure what is compatible with the factory grease. The specs only seem to mention the moly and zinc additives. Is the grease thickening agent calcium, lithium, etc.? Any recommendations for the chassis grease?
Nobody knows? My understanding is that you can cause big problems mixing incompatible greases. Maybe I'll just stick with the inexpensive Motorcraft grease of I can't find the answer.
I think that I would just stick with the Motorcraft grease, you know it will work. It would be a shame to try a high dollar product that turned the existing grease into a watery mess and ruin something.

I never greased the suspension or ball joints on my 2009 F150 (no fittings) and they are 7 years old with 145k miles and still going strong. I guess the Motorcraft grease is good enough.

If you look in your manual, page 420-421, lists the Ford specification for the grease and the part number if you just want to go to the dealer and purchase the Motorcraft grease(best if you are really concerned about it or are unable to find a grease that is marked as meeting the Ford specification). It lists both a high temperature grease and a mulit-purpose grease.
