My 2000 F350 lately has been showing the coolant to be on the low end of normal on the gauge, even when it has been sitting out below freezing temps, shut down for days.
While warming up the temp will eventually start coming up. It's just that my starting point on the cold truck is already slightly warm.
I assumed I needed a new ECT sensor for my motor. Went to the dealer for it and they didn't know which sensor is for ECU and which is for the gauge. In a google search someone showed a pic of the sensor near the coolant intake being the one I should replace.
Am I on the right track for this problem?
Anyone know for sure if the one next to the coolant hose inlet is the gauge sender?
Anyone know the actual motorcraft part number for the sender?
Anything else I should be looking at?
Pulled the wire from the Coolant Sensor with a cold engine and the gauge dropped to the bottom.
Ordered a new Motorcraft sensor on Amazon and ALL is back to normal!
Thanks for the help!

Good job, that sensor seldom fails. You are one of only a few on here that have reported that. Thanks for the feedback.
