i have a 1978 f- 150. last night the battery was dead so we jump started it and i let it idle for about 25 minutes to get a good charge on the battery. after about 25 mins of idling it died. i went out and started it back up. it wouldnt hold an idle. i shut it off. in the morning i tried to start it back up and it ran for about a second. then i tried again and it cranks but it doesnt even try to start up. what is wrong. is it flooded is ot out of gas is something wrong in the ignition. is there water in the engine
Considering it's a 78 it should be hard to figure out. Checking the gas is easy but it the battery was dead, doubt it was on E. Was it sitting for a long time before the battery went dead? It could be a number of things but this is the audio section. I have seen bad starter motors drain a battery and cause all types of problems.
