Replacing lug studs, does OEM matter?

I know some parts really need to be oem, but do lug studs matter? I don't do Dorman, but I figure Wagner or something of the sort shouldn't be so bad.

I don't see a problem. The better the quality the longer they will last.

Buddy bought some no name lug nuts. He stripped the threads on every one of them trying to loosen them the next time. Had to cut them off with a Dremel to get the wheel removed.

Never had a problem with aftermarket ones............but don't know that I have replaced any since everything aftermarket seems to be made in China........

I just found some Ford OEM studs on Ebay for like $1.50 each, so I'm good.

I like the U-techcenter eBay store.
This is where U-haul gets rid of its outdated NOS.
Most recently I got 32 lug nuts for something like $25 delivered.

Pickings are getting slimmer but you can find items going back to the '70's
And pretty much everything ships for $4.95.

Not sure about Dorman now.
All they used to be was threaded hardware (like studs)
Anyone over 50 will tell you there would be 10' of black cabinets with orange drawers.
